Charlotte has trees. Lots of them. Everywhere. Any decently major road is lined with them on both sides and the divider in the middle. There are entire lots somewhat close to downtown that are still nothing but trees. Instead of privacy fences, there are privacy trees to completely hide residential areas from the road. Even downtown has trees lining every road. It makes the city look very nice.
Unfortunately, the city also felt very monotonous. Everything had the same feel. Every tree lined road looked the same. After driving through most of the city, I never really found a district that looked unique. The city is also terribly unfriendly for pedestrians. To get from any house to any store it seemed like you needed to cross a 4 lane divided road where people go 45mph. The large number of trees also make the city a little too spread out. Charlotte takes up at least twice as much area as it needs to.
I have pictures of a garden at UNC in Charlotte and downtown.
Charlotte is also know as the Queen city like Cincinnati :)
