Knoxville

Knoxville is still full monuments from its 1982 world's fair. The most obvious is this really tall sun sphere.

They also have the world fair park, which has a large fountain children love to play in.

To get downtown from this park, they have a walkway over a moderately busy road. There was just a regular crosswalk, so it didn't really seem that necessary, but I used it anyways.

Downtown had lots of little parks, this one was the least impressive.

This next park had a few monuments. The jagged stones have the names of veterans who died in various wars. The shiny obelisk is a 9/11 monument.

This park was the coolest. It was full of decorations, trees, and water. Unfortunately most of my pictures for this park turned out very blurry.

Downtown also has 2 giant churches. The second one seems to follow the popular tradition of modern equipment in the bell tower.

And there is market square. Its a pedestrian area mostly full of local restaurants.

While all of this makes for a nice downtown, it wasn't all that big. I felt like I explored the whole city in 2 days.
